Grilled Mushroom

Updated: Sep 5, 2021

If you are a veteran mushroom griller, you can skip this post. However, if you are a mushroom lover, order grilled mushrooms whenever you can and lament that you wished you could grill succulent mushrooms, then your search is over.

Mushrooms are the easiest and quickest things to cook. The main thing to know about cooking mushrooms is that you don't wash them. To clean, you simply take a moist napkin or paper towels and wipe off the dirt. That's it. Once that it done, turn them over and literally "pop" the stems off. It's a very "satisfying" experience as my daughter likes to say!

If you are using wooden skewers, it's best to submerge them in water for about 20 minutes before skewering.

Other than that, skewer the mushrooms. Before grilling, brush with olive oil or melted butter. Then sprinkle with salt and pepper before grilling.

On an interesting note, some people will swear that butter transforms the taste of the mushroom in a way that oil does not so I'm passing that on. Perhaps, I should do a tasting for a definitive idea myself!

INGREDIENTS:
